President Trump's daughter and adviser, Ivanka Trump, on Thursday pledged to take a coronavirus vaccine live on an American daytime talk show 'The View'.
This followed a challenge from the show's co-host, Joy Behar, who had said on Wednesday's broadcast that she doubted President Trump's suggestion that a Covid-19 vaccine could be ready soon.

Behar added that she would take the vaccine once Ivanka did, prompting Ivanka to reply on Twitter: "Deal' and tagging 'The View' co-host.
"I would come on your show to do so," she said. "I trust the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] and so should all Americans. Vanquishing this virus should be our collective top priority."
Behar had suggested on Wednesday that Trump was deliberately accelerating the production of a vaccine in order to be reelected in November.
"As far as the vaccine is concerned, I'd like to inform America - in case we don't know this because I looked all this up for you - the mumps vaccine took four years, the polio vaccine took 20 years, and the smallpox vaccine took a few centuries," she said on the ABC show.
"It was developed initially in 1796, when they started to think about it, and it became useful in the 1950s, OK?" she said, referring to the smallpox vaccine. "It is not a simple thing to do."
"He will push anything to get reelected. Don't fall for it," she added. "And by the way, I will take the vaccine after Ivanka takes it."
On Monday, Trump had suggested America could secure a coronavirus vaccine by October.
Trump told a media briefing at the White House that the US would have a "wonderful vaccine" very soon, making "the people of the world very happy".
"We will end the pandemic under Operation Warp Speed," he said.
"We have pioneered ground-breaking therapies and reduced the fatality rate by 85 per cent since April. Under my leadership, we will produce a vaccine in record time.
"Joe Biden and his new liberal running mate [Kamala Harris] will destroy this country and would destroy the economy, and should immediately apologise for their anti-vaccine rhetoric that they are talking right now.
"This vaccine could have taken two to three years but instead it is going to be done in a very short period of time, and we could even have it during the month of October.
"The vaccine will be very safe and very effective. The people of the world will be very happy."
