The Bahrain health ministry has reported 702 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 334 recoveries.
Of the new cases, 98 were among expatriate workers, 602 were contacts of active cases, and two were travel related. Two new deaths were reported. The death toll stands at 202.
As many as 11,535 Covid-19 tests were carried out on September 8, the ministry said, taking the total number of recoveries to 51,574.
There are currently 30 Covid-19 cases in a critical condition, and 90 cases receiving treatment. 4,972 cases are stable out of a total of 5,002 active cases.
