While these families were lucky to get their children back home some others aren't so lucky.
Nasir and Shagufta Munshi are worried for their daughter Aisha Munshi, who is doing her Masters at a university in New York.
"Aisha had to leave the university accommodation and has now moved to New Jersey alone. She was in a single room and was virtually going into depression due to loneliness. She has been too long away from home, and we are constantly worrying about her safety and health due to the ongoing riots and coronavirus pandemic in the US," her mother said.
Another parent Mukesh Kumar said after seeing students from Canada arrive, he is hopeful his 20 year old son Aman Kumar will also get his approval soon.
"Aman is in his final year of University of British Columbia, since his first semester classes from September to December have been declared online, we decided to get him back to Dubai. We have applied for the permit a third time after getting rejected the first two times. We hope that like the lucky ones who have arrived, others can also make it soon as it is very hard for us parents to see our children suffer alone in an alien country."
