Dubai - Strict action has been taken against nine facilities for violating Covid-19 precautionary measures and safety guidelines.

Cracking down on establishments flouting Covid-19 rules, sports clubs, academies and sports and fitness centers across Dubai came under the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) and Dubai Economy scanner.
In a tweet, the Dubai Economy notified that "sports yard renting in cooperation with Dubai Sports Council in Al Qusais has been closed for not adhering to precautionary measures to limit the spread of Covid-19". The tweet specified that one establishment has faced closure, seven have been issued warning and 10 have been fined for not abiding by the precautionary measures.

The inspecting teams from the DSC and Dubai Economy visited 124 sports facilities and five sporting events, between September 15 and 19, following which three facilities have been closed down, six are issued monetary fines and 35 were let off with a warning.
The three facilities which faced closure, include a rented playground, a swimming pool at a sports club and a sports academy. While in the past week, strict action has been taken against nine facilities for violating Covid-19 precautionary measures and safety guidelines.
The DSC urged all clubs, academies, and sports and training centers in Dubai to comply with the protocols and safety guidelines, and warned that inspection visits will be further intensified.
The violating facilities ignored maintaining safe distance, failed to adhere to limiting the number of people in waiting areas, did not follow strict face mask rule and did not check body temperature of all visitors and staff.
