With a spike in Covid-19 cases in recent days, the ministry has urged the public to follow all preventive guidelines. According to authorities, the country witnessed a surge in Covid-19 cases in recent days mainly because of non-compliance to precautionary measures outlined by the country.
As part of ongoing efforts to expand the reach of the Phase III clinical trials of the inactivated Covid-19 vaccine, a new centre #4Humanity has been launched in Egypt, Abu Dhabi Media Office revealed on Thursday. This makes Egypt the fourth Arab country to participate in the trials following the UAE, Bahrain and Jordan.
It was also announced yesterday that people arriving in Abu Dhabi have to undergo mandatory Covid-19 PCR test and wear a tracking wristband during a 14-day home quarantine.
On arrival, all passengers have to take a DTI test. No PCR test will be conducted. However, passengers are required to wait at the entry point until the test result is received. The health authorities will evaluate the most appropriate place for quarantine. This may be at home, in a hotel or in accommodation provided by authorities. Violating these procedures will result in penalties and fines as outlined by the attorney general.
