Up to 25,000 workers in Ras Al Khaimah will be screened to ensure they are free from the coronavirus (Covid-19).
The campaign has been initiated in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap), Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), and Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (Rakez).
"More than 1,500 workers have already been screened in the last three days since the campaign was launched. Multiple medical teams, including doctors and paramedics, have been deployed by the NMC Royal Medical Centre to help the process," said Thomas Joseph, manager of the centre. "As many as 25,000 workers are expected to be screened as part of this campaign."
Each medical team will be visiting different companies as per the schedule set by the Mohap, added Riyas Abdul Majeed, marketing manager of the NMC Royal Medical Centre.
Dr KM Mathew, medical director of the centre, said they are also running a variety of awareness programmes for corporate companies. "The vitals, including temperature, respiratory rate, pulse, blood pressure and, where appropriate, blood oxygen saturation, are measured are measured as well to identify the state of health of all workers."
