We have to admit, we have a bit of a soft corner for Lindsay Lohan, who dropped her comeback single, Back To Me, today, her first song release in 12 years (her last official single was 2008's Bossy).
Right from her big screen debut in 1998's The Parent Trap as a perky 12-year-old alongside Natasha Richardson and Dennis Quaid, to memorable teen films like Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen and Mean Girls, Lohan won hearts with her charm - in roles that seem tailor-made for her personality.
Like her contemporaries Hilary Duff and Raven Symone, she branched out into singing, recording a song for her 2003 film Freaky Friday, called Ultimate, as well as Drama Queen (That Girl) in 2004 - from the soundtrack to her film, Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen. Lindsay released her debut studio album, Speak, in 2004, which received mixed reviews and peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 charts. Her last studio album, A Little More Personal (Raw) was released in 2005; it failed to live up to the success of Speak.
Lindsay's career and personal life have been marred by substance and alcohol abuse, DUI arrests and other controversies. She was last seen on screen in the TV series Sick Note in 2018. She teased a musical comeback single Xanax last year, also posting a music video on Instagram in September, but the track disappeared and didn't make it to Spotify.
With her new single, a club track with a chilled-out vibe, Lindsay seems to be making a fresh start, confronting her demons in the lyrics. "My life is full of ripped up pages/ I've been weak, contagious/ But I'm coming back, I'm coming back to me/ Oh, but I know that everything changes," she sings on Back To Me.
We admire Lindsay's resilience and hope this new single heralds the start of a new and successful chapter of her life. Check out the catchy Back To Me and let us know what you think of Lindsay's comeback!
