Dubai-based Malhaar Centre for Performing Arts will pay tribute to India's famous musical family - the Mangeshkars, with an online concert to celebrate the birthday month of famous Indian film industry's playback singers and siblings - Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.

Malhaar's Baithak will be streamed live on the MalhaarUAE Facebook page and YouTube channel - on Friday, September 25, at 6pm. On September 8, the evergreen Asha Bhosle turned 88 years young and on September 28, the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar will be 91.

Malhaar artists will present timeless classical compositions sung by Mangeshkar sisters or composed by Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar.

During the online concert, Baiju Mangeshkar, the nephew of Lata and Asha and the son of Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar, will talk about his family's contribution to Indian music, his memories as well as finding his own voice.

"This is an extremely special edition of Malhaar Baithak as we will not only be performing some of the classical compositions performed by the Mangeshkar family in Indian films, but we will also get to hear about their life and music from none other than Baiju Mangeshkar, who will be connecting with us live from Mumbai, India," says Jogiraj Sikidar, Founder-Director of Malhaar.

Baiju will reminisce about the musical legacy of his family and share a few unknown and interesting incidents behind some of the famous compositions that Malhaar artists will be presenting.

"I am excited to talk about my family's legacy and my musical journey so far with Malhaar Baithak's audience," says Baiju Mangeshkar.

"From Hindi film classics such as Mohe Panghat Pe Nandalal (Mughal-e-Azam), Chalte Chalte (Pakeezah), Dil Cheez Kya Hai (Umrao Jaan) and Jhoothe Naina Boley (Lekin) to non-film albums, we have an amazing playlist for this edition of Malhaar Baithak," says Sikidar.

The performance will consist of poetry narrations, trivia, mellifluous singing, accompanied with live instruments and a lot more.

Baiju Mangeshkar's latest album Within You released on Times Music is a soulful bouquet of six sufi songs presented in a contemporary style.
