Veteran Bollywood actress Shammi passes away at 89

She was a popular face on Indian television and Bollywood films.

Veteran Bollywood and television actress, Shammi, popularly known as Shammi aunty passed away on March 6. She was 89-year-old  
She was the popular face in Indian advertising commercials, films, and television serials.

Over her long film career, she was part of over 200 Bollywood films including Hum, Gopi Kishan, Hum Saath Saath Hai. Among the popular television serials she was part of were Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Shriman Shrimati, Kabhi Yeh Kabhi Woh and last but not the least Dekh Bhai Dekh.
Amitabh Bachchan paid homage to Shammi aunty with a tweet.
