Here's what KRK has to day about Vidya Balan's 'Tumhari Sulu'

She represents every woman who leaves behind her dreams to fulfill her responsibilities as a home-maker.

Story
Sulochana (Sulu) is a suburban Mumbai housewife, who lives with her husband, Ashok and their 11-year-old son. Ashok works in small company that sells uniforms and earns a modest salary. 
But Sulu is not bogged down by the difficulties of her mediocre life and instead fights it off with her happy-go-lucky attitude. She represents every woman who leaves behind her dreams to fulfill her responsibilities as a home-maker. 
The chirpy Sulu entertains herself by listening to her favorite radio station and participating in every possible contest! One day she wins a pressure cooker through a radio contest and visits the radio station to claim her prize. But, she ends up taking part in RJ hunt. In an unexpected turn of events, Sulu lands a job of an RJ (radio jockey) after Neha Dhupia, the radio station owner, notices the potential in her.
And, Sulu becomes the anchor for a late night show 'TumhariSulu' where she engages in flirty chats. 
She is happy with her new found fame till her life starts falling apart as her family counters her seducing conversations with men on her show. Sulu's life in the second half, takes a drastic turn, as her marriage is put to test and her son's constant school complaints leave her clueless. 
Direction
Debutant, Suresh Triveni, has tried to put in a great effort with his film, however, he fails to charm the masses. Though the film states to be a comedy flick, it disappoints humor-loving viewers immensely. The movie reflects the director's confused state of mind who is probably unable to decide his target audience. The film does not fall in the bracket of a family entertainer. Though, there are few instances in the movie that manage to captivate the audience but they don't make it up for the whole movie. 'Tumhari Sulu' seems to be stretched a bit too much and drags.
Screenplay
Screenplay, like direction, falters. There are no striking scenes and locations in the movie that linger over, except when Sulu's son goes missing and the panic-stricken parents frantically search for him. 
Dialogues and music
There are no dialogues that strike a chord with the audience. Though the movie talks about a middle-class home-maker, crisp dialogues could have possibly saved the film. The background score and music add to the weaknesses of the movie.
Acting
Effervescent Vidya Balan's performance is effortless and quirky. She justifies the role of Sulu with her impeccable acting skills and inundating in the character of a middle-class Mumbai housewife. However, her fans might feel she has gone overboard with her bubbly character which seems a little unreal for a 40-year-old woman, who has nothing very exciting happening besides the little wins in small contests!
Manav Kaul has done a good job as a newbie but gets overshadowed by Vidya. Again, it's not so appealing to the eyes to see a fresh face with an experienced actor like Vidya. 
Film Verdict
'Tumhari Sulu' has been pulled on for over 2 hours with nothing entertaining to offer to the audience. The film seems to be hurriedly wound up in the second half and it's confusing to categorize it in comedy, family entertainer or an adult flick. The film definitely does not entice the youth. And, the climax where Sulu surrenders to social pressure and resigns her job as an RJ, is seen taking up the job again in no time! The gap fails to create the required drama.
