Huda Beauty Fans were left incredibly disappointed after her meet and greet event at the Dubai Mall Sephora store was canceled. The Award winning Makeup Artist and Beauty Innovator was set to make an appearance at the Sephora store yesterday from 7 PM to 9 PM, to unleash and celebrate the launch of her next generation 3D Highlighter Palette.

However given the intensity and size of the crowd the event had to be swiftly canceled. Huda released a statement through her Instagram stating:

"Hi my loves, I'm very, very sad to announce that due to extremely high safety and security concerns we have been forced to cancel tonight's Meet & Greet. Dubai Mall is one of the most visited and safest places in the world, which is why crowd control was very important! There are way too many people waiting at Sephora and we are above capacity limits according to health and safety regulations. I have been counting down for this event for over a month and I've really been looking forward to meeting you all! Words can't describe how sad I am. I'm really sorry to everyone who planned on coming out tonight but this beyond our control. Your safety is our main priority and we can't compromise it under any circumstances! You have no idea how sad I am about the, but again - I want you all to be safe! Thank you so much for all your love and support."
Huda also posted a number of videos on her Insta stories apologizing and explaining to her fans about the event. She even showed videos of fights that broke out in the crowd. Many of her followers supported her decision but equally there were many who weren't happy about how the event was handled and canceled.
"The event was a big failure. The mall security were rude harsh and aggressive. And you not turning up was such a disaster. I was part of the crowd and the people were calm but it was the staff and security at Dubai Mall who getting agitated and being aggressive. Your followers were really hopping to see you," said one of her followers
"You should have at least went to wave and say hello. Sheikh Mo goes to public places and events unannounced," said another follower.
"You and your team should have hired or organized more security. It's amazing how many people want to see you but this is a shame. May this be a lesson learned for you and your team. I would have been pissed if I went there," said one of her followers.
In all fairness we can't help but agree. It was definitely a good thing that the event was cancelled - safety must come first but why did the crowd get so out of hand to begin with? Although no one can ever preempt how many people will attend a public event, Huda Kattan has nearly 20 million followers on Instagram where she'd advertised the event at an earlier date. Given her popularity one would assume rules around crowd control would have been put in place to avoid such an incident.
