As usual, the awards ceremony will take place at the Staples Center, and the nominees will be revealed during a televised one-hour concert special for a fourth year.

Both will be broadcast in the United States on CBS under a new 10-year deal that also includes a series of unspecified two-hour Grammy specials.

Next year’s awards will be notably streamlined. The Recording Academy said in April that it would slash the number of categories to 78 from 109.

TV viewers will not notice anything, though, since only 10 or so high-profile winners are announced during the performance-heavy ceremony; the rest of the awards are announced beforehand during a fast-paced webcast.
