Discover your culinary talents and learn how to impress in the kitchen by joining Al Bustan Rotana’s cooking classes. Get tips straight from the hotel’s award-winning chefs at Blue Elephant, the Royal Thai restaurant and Benihana - the Teppanyaki style Japanese restaurant.

Be welcomed with morning coffee or tea on arrival and then watch the chef create a two-course masterpiece as you learn the tricks of the trade. Once the demonstration is over, you can sample what you have prepared. Each budding chef will head home with a souvenir pack containing exclusive items which includes Al Bustan Rotana apron, chef’s hat, hand-outs as well as a certificate.

VIVA RIVA

RIVA Ristorante, The Shoreline, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

RIVA Ristorante will open in spring, serving up homemade Italian the Mediterranean al fresco way - by the beach.

Coming from Rome, the new head chef has worked with some of Asia’s best Italian restaurants and developed successful Italian concepts for leading hotel groups in the Far East.

The menu features both traditional Italian classics and modern interpretations such as melanzane alla parmigiana (baked aubergine), tartar di tonno al tartufo (tuna tartar with truffles), ravanelli e crema di patate al limone (seared scallops on the shell with watercress and potato in lemon), insalata di granchio (crab and avocado salad), tagliata di manzo (grilled sirloin steak with rocket and rock salt), costoletta di vitello grigliata (grilled veal chop) and gamberoni al griglia (grilled king prawns)

SUGAR RUSH

IT’SUGAR, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai

The confectionary phenomenon from the United States is located in the Mall of the Emirates opposite the entrance to the VOX cinema.

Visitors will be able to indulge in a wide range of best-selling products, including a cotton candy stand, a vintage pick n’ mix station selling disco candy, taffy, satellite wafers and popettes together with IT’SUGAR’s own range of confectionary and delightfully naughty gifts. One of the highlights will be the IT’SUGAR giant gummy bears, including the world’s largest, weighing in at a sizeable five-pounds, and standing nine-inches tall.
