You played this year’s Glastonbury Festival. How was the experience?

I have been playing at the Glastonbury Festival since around 1992. It’s only 40 minutes from my home and is a major part of my summer in the UK. I believe it is the best festival in the world, with the most diverse of line-ups. I always go for at least four days and experience the whole festival.

You’ve released eight albums to date on the famous Global Underground label, each dedicated to a different city or country (Brazil, Shanghai, Lima). How do you select each place?

It’s quite a simple process, to be honest. When I agree on the time frame for each one we look at the cities where I’m performing over the next few months and pick which one we think is right.

Can you tell us a little about your recently released iPhone app?

I’m really happy with the App – and by the way, it’s now available for Android phones as well. It gives my fans a chance to keep right up to date with everything I do. New music, tour dates and news plus my radio show are all on the app, plus much more.

How do you go about your job as an A&R man for dance label Hope Recordings, and how many demos do you listen to in an average week?

I really enjoy the role of A&R. I get sent around 1,200 tracks a week and listen to everything myself. Because there are so many tracks I can’t reply to everyone, but if the track suits the label and is good enough you will hear from us.

What’s one thing about Nick Warren that your average fan wouldn’t know?

I am an avid fisherman and found out recently that I love jumping off mountains.
