Saudi delegation visits DCCI

DUBAI — Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee, Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), yesterday received a delegation from the Saudi Chambers of Commerce.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Fahd Al Sultan, General Secretary of the Saudi Chambers of Commerce, and several directors of the Saudi Chamber.

Al Mutaiwee stressed the need strengthen bilateral relationships between the Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and the need to benefit from this relationship. "Since the DCCI adopted new working strategies and plans in 2003, we realised that we should be a proactive establishment that contributes to setting up the foundations and frameworks of the economic business and provide high quality services to the business community in Dubai," said Al Mutaiwee.

He pointed out that the DCCI cooperates with the Dubai Government in setting up plans that help develop businesses, especially after the Dubai Chamber has changed its structure and separated its departments to help extend more services to its customers with stressing a priority to the private sector.

"The DCCI always works to be the main indispensable source for the business community in Dubai to protect and care for the interests of the Dubai Chamber's members, in addition to setting strategies and plans which contribute to the improvement of the economic work in the emirate and work on extending the businessmen's issues to the government," Al Mutaiwee added.

"The Dubai Chamber became more capable of playing as an effective link between the business community and the government. The DCCI supervises the work of 18 business groups and 28 business councils of different nationalities, in addition to its role in supervising the establishment of trade offices for various countries in Dubai," Al Mutaiwee explained.

The General Secretary of the Saudi Chambers of Commerce said that his visit to the DCCI is very important for him and highlighted the significance of Dubai as an economic school, which realized many achievements, along with its role in supporting the business community.
