Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Quttami, Minister of Health, who inaugurated the centre stressed that the MoH is keen on ensuring a more efficient and timely delivery of services.

With different counters for each of the various services provided at the ministry, the new centre will offer services such as the review and authorisation of advertising, registration of medical devices, licensing of pharmaceutical institutions and the registration of physicians and nurses.

The minister added the MoH would be taking all measures to ensure maximum cooperation between the ministry and other authorities in the country. "There will be a report in three months specifying the responsibilities of the municipalities and the MoH regarding the registration and licensing of herbal products to avoid the current confusion and conflict in responsibilities. There will still be coordination between the municipalities and the MoH to ensure the safety of these products", he said.
