Arkan Building Materials reported a 26 per cent increase in net profit to Dh101.1 million last year, driven by higher sales, renegotiated supply contracts and production efficiencies. This is in comparison with a Dh80 million net profit in 2014.
Revenues rose 17 per cent to Dh976.9 million as a result of its increased market share. The net profit margin was 11.3 per cent, an improvement of 7.6 per cent compared to 2014. The company said it increased its exports, primarily to the GCC, Africa and Asian markets.
Engr Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, chairman of Arkan, said in a statement: "As we look ahead to the coming year, we will continue to capitalise on our position as a market leader in Abu Dhabi and expand our markets both across the UAE and internationally. We are confident that our sustainable strategy will allow us to continue growing despite market headwinds."
