Cable and wire maker Ducab said it won $130 million orders from oil and gas firms in Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.
During the year, the company has signed contracts and commenced delivery to a number of local, regional and international projects across multiple sectors. Most recently, Ducab has secured significant orders worth $60 million in the oil, gas and petrochemical sector in Abu Dhabi and $70 million in Kuwait.
Jointly-owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai and General Holding Corporation, which is part of the Abu Dhabi government, Ducab operates five manufacturing facilities in the UAE, which includes Ducab Jebel Ali, Ducab Mussafah 1 Factory, Ducab Mussafah 2 Factory, Copper Rod Factory, and Ducab High Voltage Cable Systems Factory. It also acquired its first overseas plant, AEI Cables UK earlier in 2014. The company has a manufacturing capability of over 115,000 metal tonnes of high, medium and low voltage cables and 110,000 tonnes of copper rods and wires per annum.
