Dubal Net Profit Rises 16 Per Cent in 2008
DUBAI - Dubai Aluminium Company, or Dubal, the largest smelter in the Middle East said its net profit in 2008 rose by 16 per cent from a year ago to Dh2.21 billion.
Dubal said its sales last year reached Dh9.115 billion compared to Dh8.007 billion in 2007.
In 2008, Dubal’s production grew by a marginal 0.4 per cent to 945,000 tonnes.
The company said it is continuing construction of the Emirates in Al Taweelah in Abu Dhabi which it expects to be operational in early 2010.
Dubal serves more than 290 customers in 48 countries predominantly in the Far East, Europe, the ASEAN region, the Middle East and Mediterranean region, and North America.
