DFSA grants recognition to the Chicago Board of Trade

DUBAI - The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) announced yesterday that The Board of Trade of the City of Chicago, Inc. (CBOT), has been granted the status of Recognised Body within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). David Knott, Chief Executive of the DFSA, said: "This recognition will enable the Chicago Board of Trade to provide direct access to its commodities future markets in the United States by authorised customers operating within the DIFC."

Nawras Telecom appoints Al Mashani as chairman

MUSCAT- Nawras Telecom yesterday announced the appointment of Shaikh Salim bin Mostahail Al Mashani as its chairman and Abdulla Zaid Al Talib as vice-chairman.

The new board members are comprised of Qataris representing Qtel, and Omanis representing the Omani partners who have a significant shareholding in the company. Shaikh Salim is Advisor at the Royal Diwan and a prominent businessman, as well as being a highly respected public figure.

DI to offer customer service of ten UAE departments

DUBAI - Dubai Industrial City (DI), a member of Tatweer, launched at its headquarters yesterday, a complete one-stop customer service centre offering 10 UAE government departments’ transactions under one roof. The centre is the largest facility of its kind in the country.

The new centre, located on the ground floor of DI’s main office building features dedicated counters that offer complete transactions from Dubai Municipality, Road and Transport Authority, the Department of Economic Development, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Police, the Dubai Chamber, the Ministry of Labour, the Dubai Naturalisation Residency Department, the Civil Defence and Dubai Customs.
