CBI net profits rise 13 per cent

DUBAI — Commercial Bank International (CBI), which has eight branches across the UAE, recorded a net profit of Dh174 million for the third quarter, an increase of 13 per cent from Dh14 million a year ago.

It said in a statement that its total assets grew by 29.6 per cent to Dh9.6 billion from Dh7.4 billion recorded by the end of 2006. Current customer deposits rose by 28.77 per cent to Dh6.79 billion from last year's Dh5.27 billion. The statement said that after the launch of its new identity in September 2006, CBI was ranked sixth out of 25 leading brands in terms of strength, and 10th in terms of value. CBI is striving to achieve major developments in order to accomplish its five-year strategic plan.
