The ATCUAE, who represent the FIA and FIM in the UAE, invited delegates from all organisations involved with the motorsport activities in the UAE such as ADMM, Emirates Motorsport Federation, Dubai Autodrome and Al Ain Raceway among others to their head office in Dubai for this annual meeting.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem commented on the event, “It was a very successful meeting. It’s great for motorsport in the UAE that all the event organisers can work together to ensure its continued success.”

The ATCUAE arrange this meeting annually to ensure the coherence and coordination of over 140 events in the UAE motorsport calendar and that no events clash. Dr Ahmed Al Sharif, Director at Emirates Motorsport Federation, commented after the meeting: “There is a lot happening next season. We try to organise the calendar as best we can for the drivers themselves, we don’t want any conflict to happen between the dates and giving people a chance to participate in different events and if they’re not they can come and help out or even watch”

This meeting is essential in devising a plan to promote the sport in the UAE and also to encourage young drivers, male and female to become interested in motorsport and represent the UAE on a world stage.

Guy Sheffield, general manager of Al Ain Raceway said, “This really is for the drivers, to put on professional championships that they can take part and excel in. Karting for us is very much the first step on the motorsport ladder but its the most important step because if you look to Formula 1 all of the drivers have started their careers in karts.”
