UAE air traffic movements jump 8.7%
The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, or GCAA, has announced that air traffic movements in the UAE grew at a rate of 8.7 per cent in August compared to the same month last year, with total air traffic movements in the month at 65,176.
Dubai ranked first with 30,392 traffic movements, with ver flights second at 12,357. Abu Dhabi ranked third with 10,311. Sharjah International Airport ranked fourth with 5,489, while local flights between UAE airports were fifth with 5,194. Al Maktoum International Airport witnessed 804 movements, Fujairah International Airport had 63, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport posted 455 and Al Ain Airport had 91.
