The Dodge brand, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014, is moving into the next century of its history by giving the Charger four-door sedan a full-body makeover and offering an impressive line-up of expanded powertrains for 2015.
The 2015 Dodge Charger is now updated and features a new state-of-the-art eight-speed automatic transmission that's standard across the expanded line-up. It includes the all-new Charger SRT Hellcat and the SRT 392.
The supercharged 6.2-litre SRT HEMI powered Charger Hellcat model is not currently available in the Middle East (exact arrival date to be confirmed).
The 2015 Charger offers a full range of powerful yet fuel-efficient engine options, including the award-winning 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar engine, which delivers up to 31 mpg (7.58 L/100km) on SE and SXT models; the legendary 370hp 5.7-litre HEMI® V8 on the R/T; the 6.4-litre HEMI V8, which punches out the best-in-class, naturally aspirated 485hp and 475 lbf of torque in the SRT 392; and the new 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI Hellcat V8 engine, which pumps out 707hp and 650 lbf of torque.
The chassis has been designed, engineered and fine-tuned to deliver world-class performance and efficiency, thanks to advanced technological solutions including Electric Power Steering (EPS) and all-new lighter weight axles.
The Charger Hellcat delivers ultimate performance with 707hp, 650 lbf of torque, a top speed of 204 mph (328 kmh) and National Hot Rod Association (NHRA)-certified, quarter-mile elapsed time of 11 seconds on street tyres, making it the world's quickest, fastest and most powerful sedan.
"Dodge designers have re-sculpted nearly every single body panel of the Dodge Charger for 2015, giving it a sleek, nimble appearance," said Marco Tronchi, CEO/MD Dodge Middle East. "The Charger's all-new exterior design combined with its standard new TorqueFlite eight-speed transmissions and our extensive line-up of performance-driven powertrains, highlight the latest technology under the hood and behind the wheel that builds on the brand's promise to deliver American performance machines with world-class power, efficiency, technology, authentic materials and standout styling for our customers."
To help Charger keep its edge, Dodge has loaded the sedan with new technologies and a host of premium features such as high-end interiors, the latest technologies and impressive powertrain options, along with a new exterior design that is distinctly Dodge.
Redesigned hood, fenders, front and rear fascias, headlamps, tail lamps, front doors and spoiler together provide the new Charger with a chiselled, nimble and lighter-weight appearance. Final details include a fascia-mounted dual-exhaust system and a new three-piece low profile spoiler.
The Dodge Charger offers more than 80 safety and security features, including many that are new for 2015. New features for the model year include Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus for autonomous braking.
Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus with Full Stop helps maintain distance from the vehicle. New Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist introduces subtle steering-wheel input to alert and assist with corrective action.
The Charger's standard Keyless Enter 'n Go activates interior lighting and enables passive cabin entry and trunk access through the driver's personalised key fob.
The all-new Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will come with two key fobs - red and black. The red key fob is the only key that can unlock the full horsepower and torque potential of the SRT Hellcat engine, while the black key fob limits the driver to a reduced engine output.
A pin-code-protected Valet mode is also standard on the Charger SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat for peace of mind when handing the keys over to unfamiliar drivers.
The 2015 Dodge Charger's available navigation system accommodates one-step voice-controlled destination entry and enhanced 3-D navigation map graphics, making it simple for drivers to recognise where they are and where they need to go.
