The victim, Fatima, had come out of Ansar Mall and was trying to cross Al Ittihad Road when she met with the accident.
The accident, which took place at around 2.00pm caused a traffic jam until the police arrived and removed the body that was lying in the middle of the road. The body was sent to the Kuwaiti Hospital morgue.
The driver of the car, who waited until the police arrived, was arrested for allegedly causing the accident. He was sent in police custody pending further investigations, police sources said.
