Here's an eclectic mix of cultural performances from around the world that will surely make spending nights outdoor enjoyable.
From January 7 to 14, 2017, Al Qasba and Al Majaz Waterfront - two popular entertainment destinations in Sharjah - are going to turn into free outdoor concert arenas for the 4th edition of the Sharjah World Music Festival (SWMF) 2017.
An array of free performances and open air concerts by popular Latin American, Ukrainian, Lebanese, Syrian, and other international artists will run alternatively from the January 7 all the way until the 14th at the two venues.
The eight-day lineup will comprise acts by 'Trio Allegria' from Ukraine featuring three female musicians on the flute, violin and cello. The band's signature sound is fusion, blending Arabic, tango, jazz and contemporary music into creative compositions.
A Latin street band form Colombia and Cuba will perform at the plazas at both venues with their energetic and magical sounds. Another outstanding concert will showcase Elena Dueto, a duo from Ukraine, featuring Elena on the violin accompanied by singer Raisa.
Syrian band Tarabich will play soulful traditional Middle Eastern music, which promises to charm followers of the genre. Arabic act from Lebanon, Nina and the Guitar Player, will also create refreshing modern renditions of classical Arabic music. Another international street band that promises to bring to life the SWMF nights, will be 'Drums of Love' as they'll walk around spreading positive energy through the power of percussion, rhythm and beats.
The concerts will be held daily at Al Qasba and Al Majaz Waterfront from 6-10pm. Admission to all the above-mentioned performances will be free for general public. The festival is organised by Furat Qaddouri Music Centre and sponsored by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority.
