Warehouse of Decorations Firm Gutted in Sharjah
sharjah — A warehouse belonging to Impact Decorations located in Sharjah Industrial Area No. 6 was destroyed in a massive fire that broke out around 10am on Monday.
The warehouse was located behind Macro Emirates. All items stored in the warehouse including foam, wood, sofas and cotton were lost.
Colonel Waheed Al Serkal, Director-General of Sharjah Civil Defence, said no casualties were reported but the financial loss could be worth millions
of dirhams.
Fire brigades from Samnan, Muwialah and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence battled three hours to extinguish the fire.
Fire experts at the police forensic laboratory are investigating to find out the cause.
Colonel Al Serkal said, “The wall of a labour accommodation located next to the warehouse was affected slightly. We immediately cordoned of the area and ensured that the fire did not spread to nearby buildings.”
