The truck suddenly swerved from its right lane and hit six cars in the next lane.

The injured was identified as A.E., aged 45 years, and E., the Bangladeshi driver of a saloon car. Both the injured drivers were rushed by Sharjah Police ambulance to Kuwaiti Hospital.

The accident led to a huge traffic jam of vehicles going towards Dubai. The snarl-up lasted for more than three hours during which the police officers made their best efforts to remove the damaged cars and moved the truck to the other side of the road to ease traffic flow.

Brigadier Abdullah Al Dukhan, Director of Operations Section of Sharjah Police, said the accident was caused due to the reckless driving of A.E. who was not abiding by the traffic regulations as he moved to the middle lane which is not allowed for trucks. Besides, his truck was not fit for use as its tyres were old and could not bear heavy load.

He said that the drivers should follow the safety traffic rules to protect their lives and others from danger.
