Two hurt in fire incidents

SHARJAH — In two separate incidents reported in Sharjah yesterday, an auto repair shop in an industrial area and an apartment block in Al Shahba were gutted and two people suffered injuries.

M. Imran, a Pakistani worker was injured and eight vehicles destroyed when a fire broke out yesterday in an auto repair workshop in Sharjah Industrial Area No 5.

The fire was caused by short circuit inside a Nissan car which was undergoing maintenance work. The flames spread rapidly to others cars. Imran was rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital with burn injuries.

In the other accident, an Indian national received severe burns when his apartment located on the third floor in Al Shahba was completely gutted. The fire was reportedly caused by a candle. The fire rapidly spread to the living room and other parts of the apartment and destroyed most of the furniture.
