The three brothers, said to be ‘stateless citizens’, left the man lying in their sister’s house for about nine hours thinking that he might wake up any time. But when they realised that the man’s condition was worsening, they dropped him near a mosque in the Al Bustan area.

Rashid Jasim Muglad, Head of the Criminal and Investigation Section of Ajman Police, told Khaleej Times that when passers-by informed the police of a seriously injured man lying near the mosque, they rushed to the site immediately.

“We suspected that the crime must have been committed in another area, as there were no signs of any fight at the place where he was lying,” he said.

The forensic expert confirmed that the man was beaten up with sticks and by hand and that he sustained external injuries, besides internal brain bleeding.

Inquiries showed that the victim had an affair with the sister of the three men, who is married. The police arrested the woman, who confessed to her brothers beating up the man and removing him from her house after he failed to regain consciousness. The three brothers were arrested by the police and the case was referred to the Ajman Public prosecution.

Ali Majid Al Matroushi, Director-General, Ajman Police, expressed his appreciation of the officers’ effort in dealing with criminals. “The officers are spending their time looking for criminals and do not rest till they arrest the offenders to maintain peace and security in the emirate,” he said.

A source in the Khalifa Hospital said that the condition of the victim, admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, is serious.
