Shaikha Lubna ranks 55th in most powerful women list

Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation, has been placed 55th among the top 100-most powerful women in the world for 2014, according to a survey conducted by Forbes magazine.

Shaikha Lubna has jumped 12 points compared to her position last year.

Fatima Obeid Al Jaber, Chairperson of the Emirates Business Women Council, has newly entered the list and is ranked 94th this year. Al Jaber became the first Emirati woman to be elected to the board of directors at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce in 2009.

The Forbes 2014 Most Powerful Women list features nine heads of state who run nations with a combined GDP of $11.1 trillion with 641 million citizens including the No. 1 Power Woman, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who retains her top ranking for another year.
