Saudi Arabia's Ministries have agreed bring down the shop closing time for night prayers from 25 minutes to just five minutes.
According to a report in Saudi Gazette, this rule was suggested so that businesses could close their shops on time as per regulations at 9pm. This decision was taken by The Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment and businessmen.
However the Saudi Gazette report has conflicting reports about whether there is any official document stating that all shops and stores should close at 9:00 pm.
The report also adds that if the 9pm closure rule is implemented then pharmacies will be the worst affected as they are open for 24 hours.
