Saudi Arabia issues free Haj visa scam advisory

Riyadh - Applicants are urged to apply through authentic sources.

The Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah issued a warning for all pilgrims on Tuesday urging them to be wary of fake Haj visa websites.
The statement called on people to never apply for a Haj visa through links they receive via messages or fake websites, Spa reported.
As an example, the ministry posted a picture of a WhatsApp scam message promoting a link for free Haj visa.

Additionally, the ministry urged interested Haj visa applicants to apply through authentic online sources instead of unknown sources.
The statement added that such links are used by fraudsters to get personal details.
