Ajman / Umm Al Quwain/ Ras Al Khaimah — On the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, prisoners languishing in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah, jails received good news, as the Rulers ordered with their immediate release giving them a chance to reunite with families during Ramadan.
His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, has ordered the release of 119 prisoners who had proven good conduct while serving their terms in the punitive and reformative institutions in the emirate.
The Ajman Ruler expressed hope that the inmates would be given the opportunity to join their families soon and live the rest of their lives as good individuals.
The Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, Brigadier Ali Abdullah Alwan, thanked the Ruler for his noble gesture and added that the pardons reflect Shaikh Humaid’s deep appreciation for human freedom as well as of leaving doors open for inmates to learn lessons from their experiences.

The inmates, who have been convicted and were facing deportation as per orders of the courts, will be sent back to their home countries.
His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, also ordered the release of 220 prisoners from the punitive and reformative institutions in the emirate on the advent of the holy month.
The move comes as part of Shaikh Saud’s initiative to pay debts of prisoners and grant them a chance to lead a decent life and to reunite with their families. — Wam
