Kebabs & Karahi (K&K) is a great addition for the foodies in Dubai. Situated right across Mall of the Emirates, it is a great Pakistani restaurant, and one with the perfect ambience for food-lovers. Its speciality is in its offerings in the form of fresh food cooked right in front of your eyes as you relish its cosy environment. The restaurant is so designed that you can see chefs at work right behind the glass panel. The 20 to 25 minutes wait - while you are served - are mouth-watering moments. The food is so good that it deserves a revisit.
Syed Asam Javed is the managing director and the conceptualiser of the eatery. With his more than 25 years of research experience in the Middle East starting from Cyprus to Qatar, Iran and the UAE, Asam thought of giving food a try, and took the challenge in all professional terms. He holds a MBA degree, with a Bachelors in journalism, BSC Computer and LLB. His experience in the fields of management, consultancy and research is outstanding. His intention is to serve delicious food, and make people feel at home. This aspect led him to do some research and find out the best ingredients, and then he cajoled a dedicated team to serve the delicious palate. The newly-opened restaurant is a must-visit place to try the real taste of Pakistani cuisine.

K&K's chefs come from Multan, Lahore and Karachi, and churn out the greatest taste you can find in the emirate. Chicken and mutton karahi are its specialities, along with a perfect blend of BBQ platter, mutton chops, mutton minced meat kebab, and chapel kebab.
Asam has introduced some candid and fresh thoughts to your platter. The meat comes from Ethiopian livestock, as he has discovered it to be most tender and fresh. So is the case with chicken, which is delivered fresh on a daily basis from a local poultry farm in Al Ain.
"There is no room for frozen meat, as I believe in serving the best," he remarked. Though a new place, it is frequented by customers in a large number and has been able to make a mark. "If a person is not fond of oily food, or wants to avoid oil, then we cook it in butter," Asam said, describing some of the salient features of plain, namkeen, white and dampokt varieties in karahi. He is quite conscious of spices, rice and other ingredients used in his kitchen, and says, "My passion is to serve food with a change and make people feel the difference. Freshness and taste comes only when it is done in all sincerity."
K&K's ambience is awesome and is open from 11am to 1am. On weekends, it is one of the best places to hangout and get nostalgic as you try some spicy and well-done sub-continental recipes. Zarda, served complimentarily, is a valuable addition at the end of the lip-smacking meal, and one shouldn't forget to try some of the deserts such as milk kheer or traditional beverages, such as lassi. Fresh fruit juices with no additives is what makes K&K special, as well as the bowl of fruit and vegetable salad, too tempting to spare!
The restaurant has some special takeaway, apart from biryani, such as combo karahi for two to four people, as well as the crispy whole-wheat tandoori bread that makes the serving come full circle. Give it a try, K&K is worth an experience for some delightful servings.
