DP World spokeswoman Sarah Lockie says no casualties have been reported. Authorities have been alerted.

Clouds of smoke could be seen rising from the area of Tuesday’s collision. The port is on the southwestern end of the city, in the direction of Abu Dhabi.

The other ship, a small-sized feeder ship laden with containers, was heading out of the port at the time of collision. There was no fire onboard this ship, the spokesman said.
