The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has launched its Ramadan project under which it will provide over 1.7 million Iftar meals in cooperation with 542 Emirati families in 100 locations across the UAE.
Mohamed Haji Al Khouri, director-general of the foundation, congratulated the leadership on this occasion. He highlighted the fact that the foundation continues to serve for the 10th consecutive year through the Iftar Project.
It is supported by the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and chairman of the foundation.
During a Press conference on Wednesday, which was attended by strategic partners and project sponsors, Al Khouri said that 184 coordinators and supervisors were assigned to this project. They will visit various locations in the UAE to supervise the operation of the project on the field. They will also make surprise visits to investigate the quality of the meals in compliance with the standards of health and follow-up on the preparation and delivery of meals by the nationals' families.
He noted that 25 female coordinators would be in charge of communication with women who prepare the meals, while 159 supervisors would be in charge of the distribution.
He added that supervisors will be present in the identified locations in each emirate prior to the distribution process, especially the locations close to the workers' residence, large residential complexes and mosques, while female coordinators will communicate with the nationals' families.
He explained that the location supervisor will receive meals from the families, and follow up on the packaging procedures after monitoring the hygiene and compliance to all the set conditions. He will then monitor the distribution process and draft daily comments, positive and negative, and attach them to the daily report to be presented to the supreme department
The project's strategic sponsors spoke during the press conference about their roles, expressing their willingness to do whatever it takes to make the project a success.
