Mohammed opens Dubai cable factory in Jebel Ali

DUBAI - Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated today in the Jebel Ali Industrial Zone a new factory for manufacturing high tension cables.

Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Deputy Ruler of Dubai, HH Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan chairman of the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Shaikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri Minister of Economy Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water and a number of other senior officials attended the opening ceremony.

The ceremony started with the playing of the national anthem, which was followed by the welcome speech by Chairman of Dubai Cable Company (Ducab) Ahmed Hassan Al Sheikh.

He said that the factory is the only one of its kind in the entire Middle East region and is the result of the cooperation between the Water and Electricity authorities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The project was inspired by the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for building a national industrial base which will be the basic pillars of our national economy.

After the opening Sheikh Mohammed, accompanied by other Sheikhs and officials, toured various sections of the new factory.
