Colonel Rashid Jasim, Head of the Criminal Research Section of Ajman Police Department, said that on February 6, the police received an anonymous call at 5:45pm about a dead body in a car in Al Sewan district of Ajman.
Under the instructions of Colonel Ali Majid Al Matroushi, Director-General of Ajman Police, a team headed by Major Abdullah Saif, head of the investigation section, was formed to investigate the case.
The police team comprising qualified officers inspected the crime scene and called the forensic pathologist who confirmed that the death was not natural and the diseased was killed.
During that period, there was no information available about the victim or the person who committed the murder.
Major Saif formed another team, which was divided into three groups to investigate the crime. The police found that A.K., 24, a Jordanian, who has previous criminal record with the police was involved in various cases including assault and drinking alcohol.
When the police contacted the UAE family for whom the victim, B.Y., 40, used to work as a driver, they informed the police that B.Y. along with their son N. and his friend left the house together to bring the car from a garage in Sharjah.
The Garage’s owner confirmed to the police that these three people took the car and left his place at 8am.
The police found that N., the accused, and the victim spent their time in a house where they engaged in illicit affairs before they went to Dubai to drop N. at his girlfriend’s apartment in Karama.
On their way back to Ajman, the accused and the victim, both being under the influence of alcohol, had a fight, which prompted the Jordanian accused to strangle the victim to death using his hands. The suspect was arrested by the police in Ajman after a two-day search. During the interrogation the accused confessed to committing the crime claiming that the victim abused him.
