Labour minister reviews labour market reality

Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour has reviewed the labour market reality in the private sector and prospects of absorbing the national workforce.

He also sought solutions to overcome the challenges on the way in promoting the citizens participation in private sector under ministry’s guidelines, as well as the importance of ‘Absher’ program in stimulating and accommodating larger numbers of citizens.

He made his remarks during an expanded meeting with heads of local newspapers and opinion columnists under the title ‘Partners in Responsibility’ here at the ministry’s office in the presence of Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour and assistant undersecretaries.

The meeting comes in the framework of the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s ‘Absher Initiative’ aiming at consolidating the national cadres in the labour market and in the light of the announcement of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum marking 2013 as the year of Tawteen ‘Emiratization’. During the year efforts and energies will be mobilized to launch diverse initiatives and policies focusing on the Emiratization as a national priority at all levels.

The move is also in conformity with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, to attract citizens in the privates sector and improve its working conditions.
