Taking advantage of the new temperature-controlled attractions, organised by Dubai Ladies Club, to help guests remain cool and refreshed on Dubai's only private ladies-only beach, the opening weekend of DubaICE Ladies Beach concluded to a huge success with an unprecedented turn out of ladies from the UAE, and across the gulf region. From 'cool' ice features on the beach, such as the first of its kind Snow Spa and an Ice Dome that contained a children's area packed with activities, an ice bar and Snow Globe photobooth, DubaICE Ladies Beach, was the place to be for a weekend of fun and relaxation for women and children. DubaICE Ladies Beach will continue to run every Friday & Saturday through July and August, 2017 from 2.00pm - 7.00pm, in Dubai Ladies Club.
Commenting on the occasion, Lamia Abdulaziz Khan, Director of Dubai Ladies Club said, "We are immensely pleased with the turn out for the first weekend of DubaICE Ladies Beach. Our aim from this event was to explore new and creative ways to provide our ladies from the local community, as well as those guests visiting Dubai from overseas, with a refreshing respite from the summer's rising temperatures for women while they enjoy the numerous health benefits of the sun and beach."
In line with this ideology, DubaICE Ladies Beach's first weekend welcomed over 1000 guests, which included a surprising majority of ladies visiting from the GCC, including KSA; who commended Dubai Ladies Club for their innovative thinking and creativity in making the beach an appealing place for women and children during the summers warmest months. Among the many guests were notable personalities from the community such as Mayssa Maghrebi, who complimented the Club for its commitment to being Dubai's only beach for women, and consistently growing their services so that every woman can experience the beach to its fullest potential, while always ensuring her privacy and exclusivity. Mayssa also said that just the presence of the beach's icy decor and cool-down features - such as the Snow Spa and Ice Dome - helped create a cooling ambience that put all the guests in a festive mood, at the peak of summer. Most women also appreciated the Club's efforts to continuously expand their beach services and facilities, such as offering a wide selection of water sports activities and more; all while recognising women's needs for privacy and exclusivity.
She continued, "It is heartening to receive such positive feedback and we aim to continue to exceed expectations in the future too. At Dubai Ladies Club, we take our role as Dubai's only women's club that offers a private beach for ladies very seriously and strive to always give them a beach experience that not only anticipates their wellbeing needs but also enhances their state of mind; and thereby fulfil the mission that was established under the wise guidance of H.H. Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, President of Dubai Women Establishment and wife of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; to truly be the home of happy and healthy women."
Delivering on this vision of a haven where 'sun meets snow', DubaICE Ladies Beach's flagship feature was the zero-degree Snow Spa that channels the many healing properties of snow and cool temperatures for complete wellbeing. Studies have shown that the application of snow not only aids in cooling down one's body temperature but also activates the production of happy hormones such as serotonin and endorphins, encourages muscle recovery after strenuous sports and fitness activity, reduces pain caused by inflammation and muscle soreness, naturally jumpstarts the metabolism to burn more calories, improves blood circulation and the texture of skin & hair, and stimulates the immune system to help reduce the effects of allergies and stave off seasonal flu symptoms. Further enhancing the spa experience, skilled therapists from Al Asalla Spa were also present to give all ladies a complimentary energising Express Glacial Shell massage on the beach.
DubaICE Ladies Beach also included a luxurious 'Ice Dome', an enclosed temperature-controlled space on the beach, where ladies could relax in at the Ice Lounge while their children engaged in a wide variety of ice-themed activities in a dedicated Cool Kids Corner. Moreover, a dedicated Snow Globe photobooth, welcomed guests to capture their memories of DubaICE Ladies Beach with a keepsake picture memento. Additionally, outdoors, guests were also able to enjoy the Aqua Swing, DLC's newest fun installation that simulates the luxurious sensations of swinging through a waterfall on the beach. All-time favourites such as food truck vendors, a children's inflatable play area, live DJ music and DLC's signature natural tanning bar were part of the weekend's offering too.
It is worth mentioning that one of main contributing factors to the success of the event was the wide array of children's activities offered, giving mothers the chance to spend the day on the beach with their children without any implications of heat or fatigue from too much sun exposure. Activities included Ice Painting and Snowman Making in the Ice Dome, an inflatable water park area with an ice-themed water slide, and even a puppet theatre with mini pools for children to stay cool and hydrated during the shows.
Dubai Ladies Club's water sports area enhanced the overall beach experience even further with a wide selection of choices for women and children. These included the highly popular paddle boat slide and see-through kayaks; as well as stand up paddling, classic kayaking, and floater rentals.
DubaICE Ladies Beach will continue every weekend during July and August from 2.00pm - 7.00pm. Non-members may purchase tickets at the door or in advance at the standard price of AED 250. This event is free for all Dubai Ladies Club members.
Furthermore, in line with the Club's ongoing commitment to enrich the lives all women, and in particular, ladies from the Dubai government, DLC will host a special Open Day for Dubai government employees on Thursday, 27th July, 2017, inclusive of complimentary entry and a wide selection of wellbeing activities. On other days, exclusive discounts on tickets for government employees are also available.
Since its foundation in 2013, Dubai Ladies Club has consistently worked towards improving lives of women in the Emirate thought in-house events, programmes and pilot projects. The Club has been supporting major events centred around women by means of both direct and indirect participation. Its vision of promoting active lifestyle among women and having healthier and happier female population in the country, is aptly reflected in its events and programmes.
