Fire in parking lot in villa; four cars gutted
SHARJAH — A UAE national suffered first degree burns yesterday when a fire engulfed four of his vehicles in the parking lot in his villa in Al Khan.
The fire, which broke out at 6 am, completely gutted the four vehicles.
A member of the family said that A.R.A, the head of the family and owner of the cars, returned home early morning and parked the BMW, but before he could even enter his room the BMW exploded and went up in flames which spread to the other cars parked alongside.
In his effort to put out the fire, A.R.A received severe burns and had to be rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital. Civil Defence fire-fighters from Al Mina Fire Station doused the fire and prevented it from spreading to other parts of the villa. Lieutenant Mohammed Majid, Duty Officer at Al Buhaira Police Station, said the police will commence investigations to ascertain the cause of the fire after the A.R.A. recovers and becomes fit to give his statement.
