Filipina maid tries to commit suicide
AJMAN — A Filipina housemaid who worked for a UAE national family in Al Zahra Area of Ajman tried to allegedly commit suicide by throwing herself from the balcony of a second floor apartment of the building, according to a police source.
Police rushed to the spot and the woman who sustained minor injuries was taken to hospital immediately.
According to official sources, the lady in her late thirties was mentally ill and her sister had taken her to the diplomatic mission to arrange for her repatriation back home.
“The lady suddenly ran up the stairs without any provocation and plunged from the balcony. She hit a slab and rolled down the building,” an eye-witness told this reporter. Officials from the Labour bureau refused to comment on the issue.
