Emirati toddler drowns in Fujairah swimming pool

Fujairah - The boy apparently sneaked out unnoticed by his parents and went to the swimming pool.

A two-and-a-half-year-old Emirati boy drowned in the swimming pool at his parents' house in Al Huniya neighborhood, a part of the western mountainous range of the emirate, on Tuesday.

Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Naiya Al Tuinaji, deputy commander of Fujairah Police, said the Emirati family had reported to the operations room that their boy had drowned in the swimming pool in their house.

"On being alerted, police moved to the place where it appeared that the boy sneaked out unnoticed by his parents, and went into the swimming pool where he drowned," he said.

"The family found about the incident several hours later," he added.
