It included awareness sessions, health clinics, competitions, entertainment and a cricket match.

According to Zubeida Mohammed Shareef, head of clinics and medical services section, the main activities were held in the Muhaisina labour camp in collaboration with government departments and private companies. The event, part of the municipality’s initiative to improve the health and safety levels of workers, saw several clinics being organised. These included a dental clinic, chest clinic, men’s clinic, urology clinic and bone clinic.

“Awareness and periodic check-up facilities are a must to keep workers energetic and productive,” Shareef said.

Dr Munir Hamad, senior practitioner at the Dubai Municipality Clinic, said the health week created an opportunity for workers to have a good understanding of health practices as well as learn how to take precautions against diseases.
