Driver injured as trailer rams into showroom
SHARJAH — A 48-year-old Indian driver was seriously injured when he lost control over his heavy trailer yesterday and smashed into a showroom of a ceramic factory located in the Sharjah Industrial Area No.12.
According to the police, the accident took place when the driver was busy watching the huge fire which had erupted in the vicinity yesterday. Due to inattentiveness on his part, his trailer hit a cement barrier and smashed into the showroom, causing damage to the showroom’s walls and items on display.
Some of the police and Civil Defence personnel who were busy fighting the huge fire in the vicinity rushed to the scene. They had to cut the open the door of the trailer to rescue the injured driver who was bleeding profusely. He was transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital, where his condition was said to be serious.
