AbdulRahman Belsalah, Director, Specifications & Licensing Department of Dohms, said: "This directory is intended not only for those seeking medical aid, but also for those supporting the medical infrastructure in Dubai and the UAE."

"Our focus is to provide international standards, preventive, curative and modern health services to the community by utilising the best technology and human resources. With the Dohms directory, we reaffirm our responsibility towards providing reliable and accurate information on every aspect of the medical fraternity to the people in this country," he said.

Concept Media Publishing has been appointed by Dohms to produce the directory which will be released in 2006.

The directory will provide direct access to approximately 5,000 medical services providers that are registered with Dohms, including 1,200 clinics and hospitals in the public and private sectors. In the alphabetical and classified sections, the directory will list practitioners, doctors, polyclinics, speciality clinics, pharmacies, hospitals, laboratories, medical equipment suppliers, medical service providers and companies engaged in work for the medical sector.

The profile section will feature full-page descriptions of medical companies, specific medicines and even medical practitioners. In order to assist users, the hardbound volume will include a maps section to highlight locations of prominent hospitals, pharmacies, clinics and other medical institutions.

Aldrin Fernandes, CEO, Concept Group, expressed the company's appreciation of Dohms' initiative and support of the venture. "This initiative will fill a void and become a valuable resource for business firms and residents of Dubai and those seeking medical services abroad," he said.
