DUBAI - The 15th auction of the customised car numbers fetched Dh3.396 million, with car number 115 capturing the highest bid of Dh 155,000.

During Wednesday's auction session, 70 customised car numbers whose total nominal value was just Dh1.840 million were sold out for about two times more this value bringing up the total revenues of the auction to Dh3.396 million, said Captain Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Acting Director of the Administration Affairs.

The first group of the auction, which included nine car numbers of three-digit E and D codes, fetched a total of Dh965,000 whereas the nominal value of each number was Dh 80,000. The numbers of this group are 353, 373, 355, 434, 533, E525, D525, 636, 717, 838, 277 and 959.

The second group fetched a total of Dh 964,000. This group included nine (E code) three-digit numbers and were of Dh60,000 nominal price each. The numbers are 115, 226, 332, 445, 449, 554, 884, 994, and 996.

The third group fetched a total of Dh444,000. This included 24 four-digit car numbers of E and D codes and were of Dh5,000 nominal value each. The numbers of this group are 1131, 1151, 1181,2232, 2272, 2292, 3323, 3363, 4424, 4494, 5565, 5595, 6616, 6656, 7737 and 7797, besides 8818, 8828, 9939, 9969 of both E and D codes.

The fourth group of car numbers were sold out for a total Dh418,000, and included eight five-digit car numbers of code E and were of Dh30,000 nominal value each. The numbers of this group are 11011, 22022, 33033, 44044, 22262, 22292, 33313, 33343, 33363, 44424, 44484, 66066, 77077, 88088 and 99099.

The fifth group was sold out for a total Dh442.700, and included 18 five-digit car numbers of E code and were of Dh10.000 nominal value each. The numbers of this group are 11114, 11116, 22225, 22229, 33331, 33336, 44443, 44447, 55556, 55558, 99997, 99992, 88889, 88887, 77775, 77773, 66665 and 66662.

The car number 40404 of E code which was announced for auction with a nominal value of Dh40,000 was sold for Dh48,000.

The Dubai Police did not suspend the auction session of customised car numbers during summer because of the big influx it was receiving even during the vacation session, noted Capt. Al Mansouri, adding that any decision in this regard would be well studied and announced to the public via the different media.
