Only 34 companies, or 0.04% of the total number of firms operating in the UAE, violated the regulation and were punished duly, according to MoL’s Assistant Undersecretary for Inspection Affairs Maher Al-Obad.

MoL’s compliance inspectors made 7965 visits to worksites to ensure compliance with the rule which runs to 15 September.

116 other visits to raise awareness of the rule were made by the ministry’s teams to worksites between 1-26 June.

The 16 inspection teams visited some worksites more than one time.

According to the decision, workers are banned from working under the sun or in exposed outdoor areas between 12.30 and 3pm.
