Bur Dubai apartment fire put out

DUBAI — Fire-fighters and rescue personnel from Satwa fire station on Tuesday managed to contain a fire that erupted in an apartment of a four-storey building on Al Musalla Road in Bur Dubai.

The fire, which broke in the third floor of the building, was put out at 8.29pm. No one was injured.

The operations room at Dubai Civil Defence received reports on the fire from Dubai Police at 8.02pm. A team of fire-fighters and rescue personnel reached the spot at 8.18pm and started to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to the adjacent apartments before bringing it under control.

The fire extinguishing operation took 12 minutes. The area has been cordoned off for investigation.

Meanwhile, a mini-bus caught fire on Emirates Road near Global Village. The fire damaged the engine of the bus. No one was injured.

The operation room at Dubai Civil Defence received information on the fire from Dubai Police at 6am. Fire-fighters and rescue personnel reached the accident scene at 6.13am and extinguished the fire in three minutes. Investigation is on to ascertain the cause of fire.
